Student Ministry

What is Life Like?

Life Like is more than a youth ministry; it’s a movement of teenagers experiencing God and seeking to be like him. Jesus said, “I am the Way the Truth and the Life”. As a group, we are simply trying to emulate “the Life,” who is the only perfect example we have. Jesus is our model and first love.

UNITE is the weekly gathering of middle and high school students. We’re dedicated to providing a place for students to connect with God, peers, and committed leaders. We want to engage and reach this generation, and dare them to be like Jesus (Life Like).

When can my student attend UNITE?

Middle and High School students currently meet together Sunday Nights at New Life from 4:00pm-6:00pm.

Why should my student visit Life Like?
We provide students with something they rarely experience. We call it “Coolunity”: an atmosphere of equality where individuals feel equal in value and social status. We want every teen who walks through our doors to feel welcomed. We believe everyone is equally cool, which unifies us while allowing students to be comfortable being who God made them to be. It’s hard for teenagers to make good friends, so we provide a place to make solid connections, all while being encouraged, equipped, empowered, prayed for, loved on, and discipled by our staff of volunteers.

  • Where do most of the students attend school? Most of our students come from Berkeley County. We currently have students from Musselman, Martinsburg, Spring Mills, and Hedgesville districts.
  • How many students attend UNITE? Between 15-30 students attend weekly.
  • Do you provide any opportunities for students outside Sunday evenings?   Yes!       We offer quarterly special events such as camps, retreats, mission trips, service projects, and personal outings in addition to our weekly life group gatherings.
